Dear Owen,
Today you are four months old. We have been having so much fun with you lately. You have so much personality and such a joyful spirit. You are always smiling! It's awesome to have you smile and laugh in response to us. In addition to your adorable little cackle, you now have what we call your "fake" laugh. It's quite bizarre. You most often do it at the dinner table while trying to get our attention. There's another weird noise you make that I cannot think of a word to describe, other than to say it's the noise from the movie, "The Grudge". I guess it's sort of like a growl? :)
When your fingers aren't in your mouth, they are often grabbing at something else. You've finally mastered the grasp and are happy to hold onto anything you can manage… this is usually your bib, which you constantly put into your mouth. But you also really like the little sensory ball we bought you recently and the little rattle from Nannie, as both are very easy for you to grasp.
You like looking at books as long as they have brightly colored pages. Your favorites right now are the "Who's hiding" books. You FINALLY like to just sit together. For the longest time you liked to constantly be on the move. But lately you've been sitting on our laps with no complaints.

You had your first cold this month, complete with stuffy nose and cough. You HATE having your nose suctioned- as I'm sure every other baby does. But seeing your eyes fill up with tears every time we had to do it was so heartbreaking! Our visit to the pediatrician confirmed the cold but also informed us that you are teething! Who knew? We gave you baby Tylenol, put your crib mattress on a slight tilt, and rubbed vicks baby rub on your feet (a weird tip that oddly works). You've developed some eczema on your chest and belly that we are treating, but thankfully it doesn't seem to bother you.
As for sleep- you are thankfully still a wonderful sleeper! You took a brief hiatus from it when you first got sick, but have fallen back into your routine now. Your bedtime is now 7:00PM (with the exception of our small group night, and nights when Mommy works).

This month was full of excitement yet again as you went on your first hike- a big deal in the Hunt household! Daddy was very excited to take his little boy out into the woods. He already has "big plans" for your future adventures. :) You've also helped your Far-Far solicit a lot of voters during his run for Chester County Coroner. You were quite a hit at the polls today!
We love you so much, Owen. You bring so much joy to our lives. I thank the Lord every day for the miracle you are to me. We are so so so so thankful for you!
Happy 4 months, big guy!
PS: you still haven't gone a day without a bath! ;)
