It's hard to believe that the year 2010 has already come and gone. So much has changed. This past year has held vacations, new babies in the family, weddings (LOTS of weddings), new traditions, a fire, new homes and new friends. There's been tears of sadness and tears of joy. When I look back at the high points and low points of the year, I am reminded of a verse I came across just recently. Psalm 30:5 says, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." It just encouraged me to consider all of the sad, horrible, tragic situations that we may face in life, and how that sadness may remain for a 'night' (weeks, months, years...), but pure joy comes in the 'morning' (weeks, months, years, or when Christ returns!) I can think of several sad and/or difficult times that we have experienced this past year, but the wonderful and joyous times are too numerous to count! We have been truly blessed. We may have had a few difficult 'nights', but joy absolutely came in the 'morning'.
To celebrate the coming of 2011, Justin & I went out to dinner in Philadelphia with Aftan & Eric Bender, and Lauren & Jeff Bryant. We always have a great time when we are together with these couples. They're so much fun.
We carpooled all together and had dinner at Positano Coast in Old City. The food was good, but apparently not enough for Justin's appetite. So after we ate and had a couple drinks, we walked over to Nicks Roast Beef, where Justin topped off his pricey dinner with a roast beef sandwich.... Yep, thats my husband! :)
We did our best to stay out until midnight, but it just wasn't happening. We watched the ball drop and celebrated the official start to 2011 from the comfort of the Benders living room. After a champagne toast together, we headed home.
Its crazy how quickly time passes. Before you know it, the next holiday will be upon us...
So enjoy every moment! Happy New Year!
