Despite the many changes to our traditional Christmas, it was still wonderful just to have this time together with family. And for Justin and I, it was especially nice to have BOTH our parents together on Christmas eve.... we lucked out! :)
Following dinner and dessert, our families attended the Christmas eve church service at Calvary. Something that Justin and I plan to make a tradition of our own. When we got home from church, we got to work making a french toast recipe we plan to take to our Christmas brunch at the Benders house tomorrow morning. We listened to Christmas music and opened a bottle of champagne to toast our first Christmas together. The champagne coincidentally happened to be the same kind we had on our honeymoon, which made it extra special to us. :) And I actually caught Justin humming along to some of the Christmas songs!... this is a big deal. (Justin is typically a bit of a grinch when it comes to Christmas music.)
All in all, we had a wonderful Christmas eve.
Thank you again to everyone that has reached out to my family in one way or another. We appreciate it more than you know. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
