'ground zero'

Late afternoon on Christmas day, we met my family at my parents house. This was our first opportunity to search through what was left of the garage/attic area, as up to this point it had been sectioned off for the fire investigation. Knowing that snow was on its way, we decided to quickly rummage through it and see if there was anything worth saving. Sadly, very little of it was. BUT, we did get a few good laughs...

~For some reason, random single photos of Matthew were found in all different areas of the debris. It became sort of comical really. Someone would catch a glimpse of an unburned photo peaking out from something and run to get it, only to announce that it was yet another photo of Matthew. :)

~Amongst many undistinguishable things, we managed to find the lever to flush the urinal from the mens bathroom.






















~Justin's olympic weight set was being stored in the garage... He found the weight bar!

~Gordon found the head of what we believe was a porcelain doll.... sorta scary really...

~Unfortunately I did not take a photo of it, but my dad did pose with one of his pretzel-bent golf clubs and what we believed was once a golf ball.

We did find a pile of old photos that were most likely in a large cardboard box at one time. The edges are burned and many are melted or frozen together. But some are worth holding onto.

Before leaving, the whole family stood at 'ground zero' for an unusual Christmas photo. I think we look pretty good :)
