Owen's 3 months old!

Dear Owen,
Good grief child, stop growing!!! You now weigh 13 pounds 11.5 ounces. You are getting so big and changing so much. You've settled into a fairly predictable routine at this point which has made life much easier. Daddy and I feel incredibly blessed to have such an "easy" baby... though we know this could change at any moment. While you were always a great sleeper, giving us 6-7 hours each night, you decided over our beach vacation that 8-10 hours sounded even better!  I don't know if we have the ocean air to blame, but thankfully you brought that great sleep pattern home from vacation with you. We can't believe what a good sleeper you are! When we returned from the beach, we decided it was time to move you into your nursery. You've adjusted without any problems at all. You've routinely started "winding down" or "cranking up" around 7:30PM, so we've bumped your bedtime up to around 8:00PM or 9:00PM depending on the day. You are so fun to wake up in the morning, with your big smile and the goofy grin you give me. We're working on nap times during the day. You sneak them in here and there, but I'm hoping to get a better pattern going soon. You LOVE to suck on your fingers. At any given moment, there is an excellent chance you'll have two fingers in your mouth. Every now and then we'll find you with all five! You still like your pacifier, but more often than not will spit it out in exchange for your fingers. You've started taking more of an interest in things and have begun reaching/batting at things with your fists. You're not a big fan of tummy time anymore.... which has mommy rarely doing it with you. Oops. When you're overtired you start to get cranky and usually require us to walk you around until you fall asleep. When you really get crying, that bottom lip flips upside down and breaks my heart! It's the saddest, but cutest thing. You love to talk. If we sit face to face with you and start talking, little time passes before you start talking back. You started laughing quite a bit over vacation as well. It is the cutest little cackle. We love it! Your whole face seems to transform when you smile. It's the best. Your favorite thing at the moment is the bouncy seat we borrowed from your friend Louise. You could sit in there for hours without making a peep! You still enjoy your nightly bath, and yet you are stone-cold serious face almost the entire time you are in there. We just love you so much Owen. My heart aches when I think of how much I love you. Your smile melts my heart. We thank the Lord for you today and always.

Happy 3 months, Owen!
