Hunt family beach vacation '13

We had the privilege to join Justin's family for a week long vacation at OCNJ again this year. This vacation came at a good time as things were just starting to slow down after all the commotion of moving, adapting to life with Owen, and both my sister and my brother's weddings. A vacation was a welcomed event on my calendar!

It was especially fun as it was our first vacation with Owen! Packing for three was a new experience, but we got it done and had room to spare in the car (thanks to Justin's superb packing skills) ;)
The drive down was easy, and thankfully Owen slept the entire way... even through a pit-stop at FIVE GUYS.

The house itself was very nice, located right on the beach. I was so excited to get on the beach, as this was literally my first opportunity to really sit out in the sun all Summer. The weather was fairly chilly, but we did find ourselves out on the beach three out of the six full days we were there.

Owen LOVED the beach. Our friends loaned us a bouncy seat to take out on the beach and he absolutely loved that thing! He would sit in it for hours, content as can be. Shortly after sitting him in it out on the beach, he'd fall fast asleep. I'm sure the natural 'white noise' of the ocean had something to do with it. But let me tell you, it was awesome!

Coincidentally, Justin's cousins were also vacationing in OCNJ the same week, just ten blocks down. So we met up with them periodically throughout the week, and had our manco and manco pizza fix with them as well.

When the weather was too chilly for the beach, we went out shopping. We hit up the boardwalk, Asbury street, and even did a quick trip to the AC outlets.

Aside from the wonderful experience of being at the beach, beside the ocean, smelling that fabulous ocean air... it really was nice just to be together with family.

{  Justin loves games, as you can plainly see.  }

Sydney and Owen haven't had a whole lot of together time, and seeing them together this week was a lot of fun. Sydney would point and laugh saying, "Baby! Baby!" Owen would stare at Syd curiously and occasionally smile and laugh back at her. I can't wait until Owen is a bit older and able to really interact with his cousin. It'll be so much fun to watch them.

With all that we've had going on at home the last few weeks, Owen hasn't had much time with his grandparents either. So again, just seeing Owen, Mimi and Pop-pop get some nice quality time together was wonderful too.

 { I think they'd both had enough pictures by this point. LOL. }
Mimi really had Owen laughing one night, and thankfully I had the camera already in my hand! :)
